Dennis Brunton

During March of 2020 our world changed. No longer were we free to travel, be with our friends and other restrictions were enforced to keep us safe.

Around this time, live music events ended. It will be a slow process getting live music back on the scene, especially locally. Restaurants and pubs have a small margin of profit and they have to follow provincial guide lines regarding COVID-19.

Bands will be the acts hardest hit. Simply because of the number of people taking up one area (with physical distancing) and also the fact that all will have to be paid, will make this a daunting task in the  near future.

As a solo artist I will be playing again in the not too distant future and when allowed I plan on touring the Maritimes. Nova Scotia and P.E.I. in particular.

'NOVA SCOTIA the Land that I Love'

This song will be on most platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, TikTok, etc., on October 14th, 2020

The video 'NOVA SCOTIA the Land that I Love' is on You Tube Music

With all of the tragic events that have happened to those who live in the province, or who have been from the province, I needed to write something that was uplifting and that gives us hope.

This is a song of inspiration, hope and love. It's a song that I hope outlives me and is sung by those who want to sing it out strong and free.

I'm hoping when we're free to visit the Maritime provinces that I can get back and perform in Nova Scotia in 2021.

I lived in Greenwood Nova Scotia as a young boy. I was an only child in an airforce family. Many years later, I toured the province along with Cape Breton in my early twenties in the band 'Sailor.' Since then I have visited many times and now with all that has happened I feel the need to go share time with folks in Nova Scotia, the land that I love.

One of Canada's first Indy music releases was 'We've Got the Summer,' a song written by Dennis for the band 'Sailor.' This group formed in PEI and toured the Maritimes extensively including Newfoundland from the early 70's till it disbanded in B.C. in 1981.
We've Got the Summer was a hit in the summer of 1979 on C-Fox radio, Vancouver. It enjoyed over 500 plays that summer.
